Birthday In Reverse
Paying forward for all those foot rubs I’ll need in 2013.
The greatest conundrum of modern life is deciding how to respond to the flood of Facebook birthday wishes one receives each year.
You want to be polite and respond, yet you realize that an automated reminder triggered the whole landslide.
If I look at this cynically, it’s roughly 300 Facebook friends, all making damn well certain that I know I’m a year older.
Well, isn’t that nice! If it were up to me, the clock would be in reverse–which gives me an idea.
Instead of me wishing for gifts, and foot rubs, and wishing that my portrait might age instead of me, I’ve decided instead to send a gift in the wrong direction and hope that something extraordinary happens.
Keeping my expectations in check, all that will likely be accomplished is to get my latest album into your mp3 collection and rocked solidly in your mind’s ear. We’ll that sounds pretty FANTASTIC. Let’s do it.
Click on the image above, which is linked to my Bandcamp page, and download any of my last three albums, including 2012’s “True“, free of charge. If you want to leave a tip, great. But you don’t have to. Just enjoy the album(s), tap on those ‘like’ and ‘share’ buttons all around you, and share what you love with friends.
By the way, if you haven’t yet made it to the final song on “True“, you should. A lot of people have had a bunch of fun there. But I won’t spoil the surprise. However, I will say this: The band didn’t know the song in advance, we didn’t rehearse it, not even once, and we did it in one take. No one knew what we were doing, except me. Meet you at the finish line!
