On Saturday, April 14, 2012, Willie Wisely plays a momentous solo show marking the release of his new album “True“, ending a four year absence from the LA live music scene.

Cameo performances by comedian Andy Dick, platinum producer John Fields and two of Wisely’s favorite songwriters in the world (right next to Paul McCartney) Mike Ruekberg and Bleu, will make the event extra special.

“During some heavy touring in 2008, I started to lose control over my voice. “True” was already half recorded when this condition full-blast derailed me. I panicked, watching my singing voice disintegrating in front of me.”

It took three years for Wisely to get an accurate diagnosis for the nearly invisible, but debilitating hemangioma on his right vocal chord, a rare and unexplained phenomenon. Surgery and a long recovery pushed the album project farther into the future until its release this week.

The Kulak’s gig will be a celebration, worthy of the venue’s ingenious, automated, multi-camera video rig. “I love seeing shows at Kulak’s. There aren’t many thrift-store-chic venues in this town, run by volunteers no less,” adds Wisely.
